With 25 years of experience in life
science advisory, investment and
portfolio management, Vivian was among
the first consultants to specialize in
advising the biotechnology industry and
investment community. She served as
Venture Partner of Global Biomedical
Partners, managing the $100 million
Swiss-based BIOMEDICINE fund until its
recent acquisition. Vivian served as a
Director on the board of Innodia, and as
an observer on the board of Syntonix.
With Aqua
Partners and its predecessor consulting
firm which she founded in 1983, Vivian
has advised numerous companies,
investment firms, universities and
government agencies worldwide, and she
is a frequent speaker at biotechnology
investment conferences in the US, Europe
and Asia.
Vivian served as a reviewer to the US
Congressional Office of Technology
Assessment in its first report on
commercial biotechnology in 1983, and
her analyses of biotechnology industry
and financing trends have been published
in Bio/Technology, BioIndustry (Japan),
In Vivo, Biotechnology News, Decision
Resources' Spectrum and Drug & Market
Development. Vivian has previously been
associated with several venture capital
firms, including Adler & Co. and Euclid
Partners, over the last two decades and
began her career as an analyst in the
corporate venture capital arm of WR
Grace & Co. She received her A.B. in
Biochemistry from Harvard University,
and has conducted research in tumor
immunology at the Dana Farber Cancer
Center and Yale University.
