Investment Opportunities in Asia
Overview
Deregulation, economic reform, corporate restructuring and a global
shift towards outsourcing are some of the trends that have enhanced
opportunities for investment across Asia. In addition, the decline of
family control over business, the emergence of a new class of
entrepreneurs with strong academic and professional credentials and the
increasing importance attached by Asian capital markets to sound
corporate governance have created a positive investment climate. In
India and China, investment opportunities are driven by large domestic
economies with emerging consumer markets, growing service sectors, rapid
adoption of technology and an increasingly sophisticated global
manufacturing and service
capability. Korea offers significant opportunities to invest in
well-managed companies with financial structures in need of
strengthening. Japan, the world's second largest economy, also offers
significant restructuring opportunities as well as investment
possibilities in domestic service industries.
