Parag Saxena, Managing Partner and CEO
of INVESCO Private Capital, is a
seasoned venture capitalist with more
than 20 years of experience. Parag has
been involved in over 300 private
transactions helping numerous private
companies become public companies.
Parag led INVESCO's investments in Amber
Networks (sold to Nokia), DiscoveRx,
BizRate, Elusys Therapeutics, EndForce,
MetroPCS and Xenon Genetics as well as
the following, which have gone public:
Alkermes, ARM Holdings, Celgene, Indigo,
Transgenomic and Volterra. Parag serves
on the partnership advisory boards for
Accel, Kiwi I Ventures and Skyline
Venture Partners. He is also on the
board of Transgenomic and several
private company boards.
In 1983, Parag joined Citicorp
Investment Management, a predecessor
firm of INVESCO. He built a $1.5 billion
small-cap group with a top-decile record
prior to co-founding the private capital
group. His career began in 1978 at
Becton Dickinson as a product manager.
He was later recruited by Booz, Allen
and Hamilton to join their Technology
Management Services Group focusing on
business strategy development.
Parag received an M.B.A. from the
Wharton School of the University of
Pennsylvania in 1982. He earned a B.Tech
from The Indian Institute of Technology
in 1977, and a M.S. in Chemical
Engineering from the West Virginia
College of Graduate Studies in 1978. He
is registered with the NASD as a General
Securities Representative (Series 7).
